DESCRIPTION:The event is a free conference about marine energy and the out
 standing barriers and issues concerned with turning blue energy into real 
 business activities. Energy is a sector that may act as future driver for 
 competitiveness in Europe. The €597\,300 BEPPo project\, 50% co-financed
  by the Interreg IVB North Sea Region transnational collaboration Programm
 e\, focuses on Blue Energy (wave/tidal) and its complementarity with tradi
 tional (gas/oil/coal) &amp\; new (wind/biomass) sources of power\, buildin
 g on the innovation capacity of ports to become bases for the production o
 f integrated sustainable renewables\, thus ensuring reliable and affordabl
 e supplies of clean\, green energy. It provides a unique opportunity to de
 velop marine energy platforms in ports and promote local business opportun
