With its start in 2008, the international trade fair and conference BalticFuture is a platform to showcase this innovative sector on an annual basis. The focus of this event is the entire Baltic Sea Region. Rostock is the economic centre of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and a hub between Western and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and the Baltic States.

Building on the success of the 1st BalticFuture in November 2008, the profile has been strengthened for 2010’s fair. The focus areas for this maritime trade fair are:

•Maritime logistics

•Offshore wind energy

•Marine technology
